Eyebrow Threading
Eyebrow threading is an ancient Middle Eastern technique of facial hair removal. It's an extremely effective way of shaping eyebrows, as it is far more accurate than other methods of eyebrow shaping such as tweezing or waxing. It is a process which utilise strands of cotton thread precisely placing and entwining unwanted hair in the thread, then lifting from the follicle.
The process is fast, safe, hygienic and less painful than plucking or waxing.
Because there is minimal irritation to the skin surface, it's also well suited for people with sensitive skin. Threading is steady becoming popular in New Zealand, as more people discover the benefits and the amazing results it achieves.
The biggest problem it seems is finding an experienced threading practitioner, who is properly trained and competent in the art.
It's crucial that the end result is absolutely symmetrical and
is completely proportional to your face shape.
Tina Fox says "When I was first being taught threading with other students in Iran. The teachers made us all diligently watch and then constantly practice the techniques we learnt on our own arms and legs for the first 3 months, before any of us were even allowed to touch anyone's eyebrows". "One of the most important things about threading eyebrows is to first fully understand eyebrow shape design and symmetry". "It's not just about doing something cool and unique with a piece a cotton thread".
Tina also says "The problem with many of the eyebrow threading providers around New Zealand, is that many of them have simply picked-up their threading skills from the likes of their relatives (e.g. Grandmother, etc). But haven't had any proper formal training at all". "Be aware that just like any other service trade, just because someone's got a sign out-side advertising 'Threading Services', doesn't necessarily mean that they're qualified or any good. Eyebrow
threading certainly seems to have more than its fair share of cowboys
". "Best to do your research and find out about them first" she says.
