Popular music stars like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Pink, Kelly Osbourne, Gwen Stefani and Lily Allen have all created their own media sensations when they dyed their hair a radiant neon pink.
Nothing can make a individual stand out more from the mediocre crown than long fluorescent pink hair. It's certainly a major talking point and without doubt very cool if done well.
So how do the stars get that beautiful vivid pink hair to look
so awesome?
How do the colour professionals do it? The complexed process that Colour Consultant Tina Fox used the do this particular client in the photos - who's natural hair colour is light brown - took approximately 5 hours to complete. But, the fantastic superior result were well worth the extra time and effort.
It involved using full head of foils for the bleaching process, which took up a large amount of the time.
But, why use foils for bleaching, when the finished result will be all one colour?
Tina says "Bleaching the whole head directly, then colouring it can often
lead to a blotchy amateurish result - especially once the colour starts to
fade after time". "The reason I used a
full head of foils was to insure that the bleaching process develops into a nicely textured blonde, so when the pink hair colour dye is applied it looks evenly blended throughout the hair, resulting in a smooth professional finish with enhanced depth and texture".
After the bleaching process Tina used her own colour formula combination
to achieve the desired intensity of pinkness. Then proceeded with the drying
and developing process along with other special techniques she incorporated to help lock-in the colour to extend its life, that also produced a protective
glossy shine.
